ELBOW- Medial Epicondylitis


Prevalence
The reason cause Medial Epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) is similar as tennis elbow. It's common to see that people overuse their wrist or improper posture that cause a little tear on the tendon.
 
Location
Unlike tennis elbow, it happened on the tendon that located the inner side of the elbow, usually happens on pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis. Sometimes it also happens on palmaris longus, flexor carpi ulnaris, and flexor digitorum superficials.
 
Cause
Not only golf player will suffer this problem. Any activities that repetitive strains the muscle around the elbow will cause it.
 
High-Risk Groups
To cause golfer's elbow, the activity generally needs to be done for more than an hour a day on many days. It happens in any activity that puts too much stress on the elbow tendons.      
 
Symptoms
The patient will complain that there's a pain on the medial region (inner side) of the elbow. An individual will feel more pain while they gripping or lifting things.
 
Do's
Get enough rest after doing the repetitive movement, and have some rest during the movement. Apply icepack while acute period. Also can wear some support that can help you relife the pain while you doing the exercise or work. 
 
Don’t's 
Avoid doing the same movement that will get inflammation. Don’t continue the movement or exercise while you feel pain.
